A 52-year-old pedestrian died hours after she was struck in a hit-and-run crash early Friday morning, Tucson police say.
Rebecca Breeding was crossing East Speedway at North Main Avenue about 1 a.m. in a marked crosswalk but against the light, when she was struck by a westbound vehicle. She died at the hospital later in the day, Tucson police said in a news release.
The driver fled before police arrived at the crash scene.
Police continue to search for the driver.
