When Juan Ciscomani was sworn in to represent Congressional District 6 on January 3, 2025, he had the support of 215,596 voters and said, 鈥淚 am energized and excited to work with President Trump and Republican majorities in both chambers.鈥 He didn鈥檛 mention the other half, the 215,624 Democrats and Independents who didn鈥檛 vote for him. As it turns out, it doesn鈥檛 matter anyway because on that date he handed over his Article I Constitutional responsibilities and CD-6 representation to President Donald Trump and Elon Musk. Musk, the richest man in the world, bought the United States government for the bargain price of $277 million through donations to Trump鈥檚 campaign.
Can CD-6 wait 100 days for Ciscomani to show up to work? Should he continue to receive his $174,00 salary (closer to $265,000 with benefits/per diem) plus his Members鈥 Representational Allowance of $2 million for staff and travel?

It鈥檚 outrageous that Ciscomani allowed Trump to illegally form the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and appoint Musk to lead it. He said he is 鈥渢hrilled鈥 to be part of the House鈥檚 version, sort of a 鈥淢ini-Me,鈥 called the Delivering Outstanding Government Efficiency caucus. As CD-6 watches, Musk and his 20-something-year-old techies are illegally firing thousands of federal workers (including veterans) and canceling vital resources specifically funded by Congress. Note to Ciscomani: these funds aren鈥檛 suggestions 鈥 they鈥檙e mandates.
Tip O鈥橬eill said all politics is local. But it鈥檚 hard to align this message with CD-6 because it鈥檚 the most sprawling, gerrymandered district in the U.S. Its representation is diluted because of the diverse interests of its 65 communities that stretch over all or part of five counties. It covers over 100 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border, includes two major military installations, multiple VA medical sites, 12 U.S. Forest Service and National Monument sites, five Native American Reservations/Tribal lands, seven mining sites and six Social Security offices.
What about 鈥済overnment of the people, by the people, for the people?鈥 Ciscomani is letting Musk devastate CD-6 by slashing Medicare, the VA, Indian Health Services, agriculture grants (including SNAP), and U.S. Forest Service protection. Will Ciscomani support cuts in resources supporting Fort Huachuca (home of world-renowned military technology) and Davis Monthan Air Force Base (one of the largest installations for military flight)?
What part of the federal budget allows for funding DOGE or sending troops to Ft. Huachuca for border patrol, or to guard 2,000 empty migrant beds at Guantanamo? Who authorized use of massive C130 and C17 aircraft to deport fewer than 200 migrants for photo ops? Do Ft. Huachuca Maj. Gen. Appelhans and DMAF Col. Mills approve? Could their installation鈥檚 technology be replaced with Musk鈥檚? The FAA and NOAA systems are already targeted for Musk鈥檚 systems, and he and his billionaire friends seek to privatize Social Security and use the funds to boost their portfolios.
It鈥檚 scary to think Musk is literally ruling the United States. Is Ciscomani benefiting financially? Maybe he鈥檚 just trying to avoid a Musk-funded primary.
Ciscomani burst out of nowhere. He was a low-level state government employee and, benefiting from Governor Ducey鈥檚 donor list, managed to buy two CD-6 elections. He embellished his resume and devotes himself to the Patriot Academy (a far-right organization opposed to abortion and LGBTQ rights sponsoring militant youth firearms training). His family鈥檚 immigration story is questionable. This point is raised because he unremittingly touts his immigration and humble beginnings. Was his dad鈥檚 work visa/Green Card legally obtained? It is hypocritical for Ciscomani to support elimination of benefits the U.S. provided to him, such as the Pell Grant he used for his own education. He disingenuously uses the term 鈥淒reamer鈥 to describe himself 鈥 literally pilfering it from DACA. What does he think of Trump鈥檚 proposed $5 million Gold Card allowing oligarchs to buy permanent residency?
CD-6 citizens demand that Ciscomani stand up for all constituents, and they鈥檙e marking their calendars for April 12th, his 100th day.
