The Marana Town Council unanimously appointed Jon Post as the town’s new mayor Tuesday night.
Jon Post has been serving as Marana’s interim mayor since November, when longtime mayor Ed Honea died.
Post said Tuesday night it was never a position he wanted because of Honea’s longtime efforts as Mayor.

“I didn’t ever truly have aspirations to be mayor because Ed did such a great job, that he made it such a great place to serve ... With his passing, I appreciate the council putting their trust in me to move the town forward, and I won’t let you down.â€
