Arizona went into Big 12 country for its latest addition to the 2025 recruiting class, after three-star Texas defensive back Allen Gant committed to the Wildcats on Sunday.Â
Gant, a Lubbock, Texas native, selected the Wildcats over the hometown Texas Tech Red Raiders, along with Georgia Tech, Houston, TCU, UTEP and UTSA.
The 5-11, 200-pound Gant, a standout at Coronado High School in Lubbock, Texas, is rated by as the 53rd-best safety nationally and the 95th overall prospect from Texas.
The Wildcats have nine total commits for the '25 recruiting class. Gant is the third defensive back in Arizona's 25 class, joining former Arizona State commit Dajon Hinton, who also committed on Sunday, and Long Beach, California cornerback Joshua Tuchek.
Considering Arizona could lose nearly its entire defensive secondary following the upcoming season, the Wildcats are adding depth at defensive back for 2025.Â
